I will have results on tuesday night--
Dyno tested on a dyno jet 248 c and I will make sure to run a baseline the same day right before the pulley swap for accuracy.

Okay--
I ran the baseline dyno run but ran out of time switching out the pulley to do the next runs. (damm it was a b#%ch swapping the pulley after the car was heated up on the dyno)
Now the bad news---
some idiot did not secure his tools in the bed of his truck (I am assuming) and while I was switching lanes I hit a small flat tool box at approx 80 mph. There was a big noise and the car got slightly airborne on the passenger side.[mad] [mad]
So it looks like the piece was low enough to only scuff the bumper but one of the Oettinger wheels and one of the tires look like they are toasted and I need to check the belly of the car for damage. AAARGHHH!!! SOME PEOPLE!!
I am going to inspect the car today and determine whether or not it is safe to run the car on the dyno before replacing the wheel/tire combination.
If all is good I'll have dyno results with the pulley and we are also going to test VP Motorsport 103 (103 octane unleaded street legal fuel) on the car after the regular run with the new pulley installed.

You should see the dynojet numbers from the SK04 and compare them to the dynojet numbers of the E05! [:D]

Derrick,
Can you please post My and your Dynojet numbers.
After tuning with REVO by Dave@ecodetuning my car feels little bit faster than Derricks right now, but thats only cuz I have FMIC and he has dual SMIC.
Once he gets FMIC his car should be slightly faster.

D,
We should have run again after the FMIC was installed. To be honest, I don't think you picked up 50 HP from it. We are probably a lot closer now, but I may still have a slight edge. No worries though, we will work on your car and make sure you beat me!! [;)]

I think that my numbers are off, although of the Dynojet but not the same one.
This just proves inconsistancy even in between two Dynojet machines. Standard is MAHA and should be used when ever posibble and specially by the tuners when they make claims on their hardware/software upgrades.

Okay sorry for the lag factor--
I had to fix the damage to the car from hitting something on the freeway before I re-dynoed. (the tire was damaged and I did not feel comfortable running a 4th gear pass at 100 plus mph without the repairs done)
The temperature is much higher than when I did the baseline so I am trying to time it so I get on the dyno a bit later to make it fair.
I should have them done by end of this week for sure.
Not sure if I am feeling things but the car doeas seem to run slightly stronger down on the bottom end but it may just be mental.---Only the rollers of the dyno will tell for sure.
Again--Sorry for the lag factor[:(]

I think that is what this forum is all about--
This is the best place to learn the "real deal" on a product before you spend your hard earned dough on a piece of $*&%.
I am just repaying the favor that people like Saturnine etc. did for me when I first started. I got a bunch of help while building my car and want to show my appreciation to the site and the members.
I am going on the dyno on thursday night. (a bit later in the night to replicate the baseline dyno temperature so the results are accurate)
I will have the info posted up late thursday night or friday morning at the latest.

Okay--the car went on the dyno today and here are the results--
171.4hp and 202.6 torque----
At first glance I was a bit disapointed --the peak gains were only 1.4 hp and 2.6 torque
Then I compared the few runs before the pulley to the new runs with the pulley installed and the gains in the mid-range were much better
There was a high of like 10.6hp at 3600rpm between two of the graphs but I think that was slightly due to heat soak-- the rest of the graphs showed anywhere from 1.4 hp to 7.6hp at 3000rpm to 5800 rpm. average was 3-4
the power gains seemed to drop at the top end.
I also did a quick run on the dyno with some vp motorspor 103 (103 octane unleaded gas)
I siphoned the gas in the car while still strapped on the dyno and the drove through the gears for about 2 minutes (got impatient)
and then made a pass--
178.8 hp and 210.3 torque--but at like 30 plus $ for a 5 gallon drum that could become an expensive habit.
I think the car may have made more hp if the gas had been cycled through the system a bit longer cuz it felt great on the drive home with 5 gallons of 103 added to an almost empty tank.

Which begs the question...do you think this mod is worth it? For around $150, is 3-5 hp(whp?) a good deal? I read in your other post that it was a bit low because of your heavy wheels. Would colder weather out here on the East coast produce better results? Disregarding the higher octane fuel of course.

Thanks again for doing this and sharing your results with us. I am just disappointed that Neuspeed has again made claims that no one else can backup. They said 5 WHP across the power band. You only made 5 HP at one point in the band and even that wasn't consistent.
I don't know about the rest of you but I am getting tired of Neuspeed’s BS. In the real world their stuff just doesn't work, only on their magic dyno. I know that some people will bash me as a Neuspeed hater, but I am only pointing out what we have seen on Audizine. No personal input, just what others have posted and what I have seen with my own eyes.

Derrick,
They claim "5 - 7 horsepower gain."
Guess they haven't learned anything from SK04 lesson.
Independent dyno, then you do 3 runs when the car is already warmed up and then you post gains from the average run (make sure to include dyno sheet on the site).
For some tuners this is just to much to ask for.
E36,
Thanks for your input, it's really appreciated.

I am going to try to get the dyno sheets scanned asap so I can post them--They show that the results were acceptable
The hp gains through the mid-range were actually really close to what Neuspeed claimed.
There is definitely worthwhile gains through the middle of the powerband--I was just bummed on the peak number. We ran the two runs (one before the pulley and one after the pulley) on the dyno's simulator to see wich one would be faster and the new dyno run pulled away from the old one. with all said and done I think for the low $ amount the consistant 3-4 hp to the wheels and the occasional higher gains they are worth the price.
Also I think Neuspeed is claiming hp gains at the crank and if this is so they backed up the claim on this one. 5-7 crank hp puts the wheel hp at around 3-5 so they were pretty accurate.
I'll try to scan the sheets and post them asap so everyone can formulate their own opinion as to whether or not the mod is worth the $.

Yeah you should see some slightly better numbers because we have been in the 85-90 degree range lately and it sucks away the hp.
The pulley results would probably be about the same but the 1.8t platform will always see higher hp #'s in a colder environment -especially 1.8t's with stock intercoolers.

I read their claim and it was to the wheels. 3-4 HP on the lower part of the band is no where near 5-7 through the band with only 1 HP at peak. I think NS needs to start being more honest with their claims. I saw an ad in a recent publication that claims 270+ HP for the SK04! I can't believe they are still making that claim. [rolleyes]

I am always very reserved when I post things because some people think the fact that I own a shop would make me exagerate so I could sell more. Nothing could be further from the truth--if I dyno something and it does not produce I want to spread the word so nobody wastes any cash. I would prefer to have people spend their hard earned dough on something that works.
I think I need to get the sheets printed out and scanned so people can look at the gains in detailo and decide if it is worth the $.
I'll try to post the sheets by tonight

still, regardless of neuspeeds claims, 3-4 hp to the wheels for $150 or so is a good deal. i mean, most of us all bought exhausts that cost closer to a grand and probably won't yield that much of a gain. i just hope they make the pulleys for the 3.0, then i'll have one more thing i can buy for my car!

No worries--I did not think that at all. Thank you for clarifying though.
That is the problem with the forums sometimes because it is hard to judge how someone is talking--mad,happy, etc.
I, like most people want to get what we pay for and I hear ya on some of the manufactures claims not being totally honest. Sometimes and it really pisses me off. I like to be totally straight with my customers and this is the reason I like to run stuff on the same dyno before and after so I can talk from experience and not rely on manufacturer claims.
Thank you for your appreciation-
I figure if I have the means to determine whether or not certain parts make the hp they claimed I am obligated to share it with the Audizine family [:)]

I don't know if it is trash bro. 2-3 HP throughout the curve at the wheels for under $200 is not a bad deal. I am still considering this for my car. Neuspeed my claim too much but from what it has proven it still isn't too bad especially when you consider bang for the buck.
