Despite the fact that the Audi Q7 is only in its second year of lifecycle, it already receives many new features, a simplified option program, and some changes to standard equipment. With the high level of standard equipment on the 2008 Audi Q7, it is important to equip accordingly. As an example, we expect our typically equipped 3.6 Premium to include the Convenience Package and Panorama sunroof as options.

It’s important to note that for 2008 MY, there is no 4.2 model, only the 4.2 Premium will be available.

Key Standard features:
3.6
- Leather seating surfaces
- Aluminum decorative inlays
- 6-disc in-dash CD-changer
- 18” twin-spoke wheels with 255/55 all-season tires
- Privacy glass
- Power driver and front passenger seats with lumbar

3.6 Premium
- 18” twin-spoke wheels with 255/55 all-season tires
- Heated front seats
- SIRIUS satellite radio
- Driver information display (trip computer w/ check function)
- Third row seat (seven-passenger configuration)
- Power tailgate
- Bluetooth
- HomeLink
- Audi Music Interface
- Audi parking system advanced with rearview camera (+front sensors)

4.2 Premium
- Heated front seats
- Wood shift knob
- 20” twin-spoke wheels with 275/45 all-season tires (19” n/c option)
- 4-Zone climate control
- Audi DVD navigation
- Advanced key
- Audi Music Interface
- Third row seat (seven-passenger configuration)

Base Price of 3.6 Premium raised from $45,900 to $48,350
However these extra standard equipments are well worth it:

- SIRIUS satellite radio: was a $550 option
- Bluetooth: was $500
- Third row seat: was $690
- Audi Music Interface: was $290
- Audi parking system advanced with rearview camera (+front sensors): was $800 and front sensor is newly added, I am so glad that I didn't place the order 2 weeks earlier, otherwise I would have gotten a 2007 without the front camera.

Total upgrades in standard features worth $2830 plus a new feature, but the base price only raised $2450.

They are all features that make the Q7 so impressive.

Changes in packages (I wonder what happen to air suspension.... they did not show up in the order guide)

Infortainment package
2007 ($2800)
DVD Navigation/color driver information display
Bluetooth® phone preparation with comfort armrest
Sirius Satellite Radio

2008 ($0)
Does not exsit anymore... all options above have been taken apart to be included in standard equipment or in other packages.

Technology package
2007 ($2400)
Advanced parking system with rearview camera
Audi side assist
Advanced Key
Voice control

2008 ($3400)
Audi side assist
Advanced Key
Voice control
DVD Navigation

Deleting the Advanced parking system (original price= $800), adding Navigation (original price= $1800), the price raise of $1000 is just fair.

Convenience package
2007 ($1200)
Adaptive Bi-xenon front lighting
Automatically dimming/folding exterior mirrors
Memory for driver's seat
BOSE Surround Sound

2008 ($1950)
Xenon Plus
Adaptive light
Automatically dimming/folding exterior mirrors
Memory for driver's seat
BOSE Surround Sound

I do not understand why this one raised $750? I hope the new thing "Xenon Plus" is worth it.

Do you have a delivery date yet?

My saleman made a BIG mistake, there were a lot of changes in 2008 MY and he missed putting an option that I MUST have in the first order, just because it wasn't being offered by itself as a stand alone option (only in a package)... yes, it is true that there is no way for him to add that single option, but shouldn't he ask me whether or not I want the whole package, instead of just ignore that and wait for me to figure everything out when I asked him the details of the order on my car ??

That dates of that order is:

- placed on 5/1
- release for production on 5/10
- loaded to ship: 6/15
- arrive the port: 7/11
- delivered to the dealership: the week of 7/16

But that isn't the car I want anyway, so after I figured out the mistakes he made, he ordered another one for me, this 2nd order which exactly match my configuration was last modified on 5/21, 3 weeks after the first one, hopefully I can see the car in mid August.

That sucks about missing an option. Have you seen the new rear entertainment system yet? I just got a note that it is now available at the dealers as an option.

I still don't see too many other Q7s on the road in the Baltimore area where I live. Yesterday I saw a whole truck carrier of them on I-95.

1. Adaptive air suspension -- maybe true. Because I no longer see it on the order guide.

2. Audi Side Assist - not true.
It is included in the Technology package. Scroll up and look the details of packages that I listed.

Cheers for the quick response.

I noticed that Side Assist was part of the Tech pack but really wanted it on its own. Not sure Voice Control is worth it after having it on my current BMW. Also the Advanced Key doesn't really seem that big advantage either.

Really surprised and frustrated that adaptive air suspension isn't available [:(]

All said I have gone for the DVD Navigation so the question is, if I really want Side Assist is it worth the difference between $3400(tech package) and $1800(DVD Nav alone) - oh decisions.

The side assist is an option that my wife absolutely loves.

I just learned today that the side curtain (sunshade) becomes standard equipments on all Q7's. It was only available on 4.2 models in 2007. Special thanks to Jerry in Penske Audi for this info, althought I didn't order the car from them. For sure I will bring them some other businesses.

I am sooooooooo glad because when I ordered the car, the fact that this feature which can been found on Toyota Sienna & Honda Odyssey is missing on my $57k LSUV has really really bothered me.

Now there is more reason to get the 2008 model. Although I have 10 more weeks to wait. :(
