View Full Version : Chrome Mirror Covers w/Black Roof Rack???

Hey all....I need opinions on whether chrome mirror covers would look good on my avant with a black roof rack. here's the pic of the car....all suggestions are welcome!

I think if you had chrome window trimmings and grilles then maybe the chrome side mirror covers would work, otherwise no, IMHO.

where can you get chrome window trimmings?

From the dealer. But it's too expensive that it isn't worth it. A lot of the ppl who have chrome window trimming wish they had the black trimming, FYI. However, there are people who have swapped their black roof rails to the B7 chrome roof rails, and that compliments the chrome mirror housings nicely.

I have chrome mirror covers on my santorin blue avant. I have black roof rails and it looks just fine. There is enough chrome on the car so that they fit in pretty well. I have black window trimming as well.

and are you rockin 18 or 19" DTM's? what suspension? do you notice a big lag with how heavy they are? (off topic, sorry)

I say you skip the caps and use the money to paint the lowers.

I've been thinkin about doin this also....I've got a black 1.8T B5 avant and I wanna change my black mirror caps and roof rails to polished aluminum....would look like this
Anthony's Old B5.....love this look....its exactly what I'm goin for, IF I can find someone to trade their polished rails for my black ones....and oh yea...an S4 bumper

I think it will look really quite good, chrome against all that black.
