Yeah, but in general it will come in around the same price (dollars-Euros). We get a better deal over here. Still, even $56k for an S5 will kill the sales. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The 335 comparison is inevitable, even though they are in two different classes. Most people aren't going to spend the extra $10k+ for the audi, even though many would prefer the four rings.
I know there is NO way that I would spend $56k for an S5 when I can get a 335 for closer to $40k. Audi, if you're listening and really want to steal BMW & MB customers (myself included), be smart about the pricing.
I would say no more than $50k base on the S5, and no more than $47k for the next S4 (which I will be looking at unless they overprice it). This is less of an 'I can't come up with the extra $5k' and more of a 'Why the hell would I want to spend an extra $5k or more over a bavarian rocket with x-drive?'
just my opinion....

335i coupe costs more than nearly $50k without navi nor the active steering. But it is true that why people will spend extra $10k for an Audi for about the same performance.
I love both S4 and S5, , and I am not a bimmer fan, especially the interior. But after I drove the 335i once, I've changed my mind.
Unless the base price of the S5 will be around $48k, otherwise it's hard to get or keep customers.

Having an A4 3.2 2006 and a 335i Coupe 2007 in the family, I'm always happy to step back into the Audi, it is just much more comfortable and everything inside feels so well attached, doors are strong when you pull them closed, the steering wheel doesn't vibrate as much. Do not get me wrong, the speed rush of the 335 is great, but you wont see me taking the 335 on a long drive.
I can see myself taking the S5 over the 335 with the price differnce. The 335 was $49,700 and we didn't even take all the options, if you do not take the Navi on that car, the inside looks wayy to plan. Active stearing (correct me if I'm wrong) is standerd on the S5, so is the 7" Screen. Work those figures in, you might be going towards the S5.

i never bought an audi for performance.....it's always been about the rings. My parents can have the bimmers and lexus', and I told them don't ever buy an Audi.

^^LOL nice.
But yeah, the S5 price needs to be lowered. If the A5 is meant to compete with anything it should have 2 versions like BMW's 3-series coupe. A 2.0t rated at 225hp and a V6 with closer to 300hp. The S5 in all reality should really be made to compete with the M3..which it won't. The RS5 is supposed to do that...pricing for the B8 A5/S5 just doesn't make sense when lined up to close competitors. But since no pricing is concrete yet, I'll reserve further judgement.
