I had AWE pop a GIAC chip on mine at first, worked great. Great customer service as well!

i'm in the same boat. GIAC or REVO. hear good stuff about both companies. still waiting on the REVO software for the B6 04 version. then i'll make my decision. it's going to be a tough one for sure.

I am very happy with the power, smoothness and trouble-free performance of my Revo software...However, I've always thought that having local support is VERY important so I recommend that you go with whomever has local support.

But in your case I guess local support is out of the question since your car is USA spec? That's why you have to ship it instead of having the ecu reprogrammed via the obdII port? Revo has a couple of dealers in Holland, I don't know how close to Holland you are.

So my humble advise is: if you can get us spec code close (or relatively close) go get Revoed there.

If you have to ship your ECU to the states the issue of local support is irrelevant so get Revo anyway![;)]

I can tell you with the Revo my FWD A4 is a beast. Derrick, Villians, with his Revo Quattro A4 ran Alex's, BBaudi's GIAC FWD A4 and they were dead even. My FWD against any Quattro running any chip and I'm at least 3 car lengths off the line up to 100MPH, side by side, I pull even harder. Took a GIAC chipped Allroad as well. My only experience w/ GIAC was w/ my T28, and the car detonated pretty bad, never ran right either. Silence's T28 W/Revo big turbo software is a beast, he was dead even w/ a convertable E46 M3!! Villians has had both chips, so he might be a better judge, I'm sure he'll chime in here. Good luck!

REVO! No if's, and's, or but's! I had both and the REVO was just a better chip overall. Made a ton of power without any detontaion or hesitation.

Here is my little comparo:

ARGH!!!

The few (and there were only a few) things I didn't like were that on a hot day there would be detonation. The only way to even notice it was with a VAG-COM. This can be a huge problem if it continues. This was with my Dual Intercoolers so with just the stock one, it would be worse. GIAC is too aggressive with their timing so detonation can always be a problem. Plus the GIAC is not as flexible as REVO. With REVO, you can get the SPS3 and make changes to a lot of parameters. Which to me is very important.

fongaroos,

Since you are local you should definitely get REVO because we can help you get the most out of the tune with the SPS3. Plus David at EuroCode can be a great asset for tuning.

David at EuroCode is close and we usually have GTG's and test/tune a bunch of cars. Talk to him and he may give you the buddy discount. Tell him Derrick sent you!

He will come out to you. We usually get together to do some tuning so we can pick a night and meet up. Then he will flash your ECU.

You guys are so lucky to have an experienced tuner, with tons of knowledge in your own back yard. With that being said,go with Revo from Dave at Eurocode tuning. They are doing things with there software that other tuners are dreaming about. After talking with Dave, over the past several days, I am so impressed with his understanding of our cars, that I am hoping to talk him into flying to Florida to set up my car with the EO5 kit.

D,

I never mentioned this but I love your sig, that's gotta be the best one I've seen on the funny meter, [:p] Hopefully you can get that car of yours running good, I can relate w/ my T28 misery at least NS did all they could for you, I respect them for that. If it wasn't for David I may have eventually blown the motor with the PES kit. He was the first tuner to take the time to help. We just put a new beta file in my car and OMG! [cool] Gotta have some fun before I go w/ APR's Stage 3!!! Derrick get the bottle baby![;)]
