Thule (and Yakima) prices are pretty much fixed so all dealers usually sell for the same price. Only chance is to hit a sale.
Just throw your bike in the back of the Avant!

you avants have it easy - all you need are the cross bars and the bike attachments....should be cheaper than what i paid for my first thule rack (with the towers and everything)!
yeah, i agree with dave - go to REI!!

me & the boss might be able to make this...need to fix the flat we got last weekend though. of all the times we ride, the one time neither of us brought a patch kit or spare tube we get a flat @ the absolute furthest point from the start. ug.

ahhh i hope you guys can make it!!
i hear it gives good karma if you bring a tube and if someone on the trail asks for it..you should give it no questions asked!
dbtong

C'mon out, Norm. I'll bring 3-4 extra tubes for ya! [;)]
The more the merrier, all. This is going to be a mellow ride but be prepared to sweat a little bit.

for a great place to ride with little foot traffic...very minor equestrian traffic too.

Okay, looks like I'll be able to go biking with all of you. Are you meeting somewhere before you go to the trail or just meet up at the trailhead?
And Ted, I have a bike for you to borrow if you're serious about going. You'd need to bring your own helmet though.

Cool! Let me know where & when you'd like to meet, Norm.
Dawn, we could meet at the Starbucks in Saratoga (map (http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=g_5nkep_0TpnujWpSewSC_C9r7c4m4_US7d 2E5hU6uIoq2YdNg--&csz=95070&country=us&new=1&name=&qty=)) where we met for the Santa Cruz drive. That way people who forgot to get water or food have a last chance to stock up. Then we can drive up Hwy 9 to the trailhead.

Don't let Dawn and JP forget to stock up smokes, cuz they're hard to come by out on the trail [:D] Sorry I can't make it, but I'll be out on the Delta making waves.
