View Full Version : Cherry Bombs on an Avant? WTF...

So, they are finally on. I hacked off the S4 mufflers but kept the resonators on with two, 12" Cherry Bombs. This setup was waaay too loud for me. To some, it might be fine. I did not get a sound clip so sorry guys.

So I installed two more Cherry Bombs (18") after the OEM resonators and an "X" pipe between the downpipe and OEM resonators.

This is the perfect note I have been looking for. No drone, not canny, not ricey [up] I will get sound clips up by the weekend.

Recap from the cat back... down pipe, 2.25" X-pipe, OEM S4 resonators, two 18" Cherry Bombs, and two 12" Cherry Bombs at the rear with 3.5" slanted tips.

Point was to make a "poor mans" exhaust that has a good exhaust note and same performance as a $700 and up cat back system [:D]

There is none. Not on a 3.SLOW [down]

LOL, it just has more snap but w/o any other mads the gains are as minimal as any other exhaust 5HP max. The X pipe made a big difference. I drove it for a week w/o the X and it lagged but kicked ass on the fwy.

sounds good. I also want something that isnt too loud and has a mean growl with out the fart can sound

damn thats a lot of restriction, why not go with 1 resonator and a quality muffler?
