picked up my 01' S4 on saturday from Sacramento, got in about 10 am and had my friend Kyle (idrivemyself) pick me up to go get it, then lumped it back to Portland. [:D]

and yes, i love it!

this things a 4x4 but still handles better than my Jetta. so im shooting for suspension first, then try for a chip before the summer. exhaust, dv's, ect.

already slapped a k&n panel in there......that pin in back is a biacth!

First step is to take out that K&N you just put in (I had one, it ruined my MAF)

Step Two is put some rings back on the trunk.

Nice to see another S4 up in Oregon, I got mine in Cali too.

There's nothing wrong with a K&N Panel filter. I have no idea what you're talking about? I'll assume you had a bad experience?

Oiled filters can lead to a blown MAF, the older Bosch MAF's were more susceptible to failure than the Hitachi's. Plus the K&N does nothing. But if your carefull and don't over oil the filter your fine.

Ah, I guess I didn't hear about that or think about it beacuse I have a Hitachi MAF. I guess it's something to consider ... My MPG went up 2-3 after I had the K&N panel cleaned.

when i bought the k&n i took a napkin and dabbed off some of the oil......kinda like a fatty pizza. i had a k&n in my Jetta and now ive fried my second maf.

K&N in my S4 for 10K miles and i'm fine.

Yeah, I've only heard of a select few cases of the filter screwing with the MAF. Also, I guess if you have a "2nd Gen" B5 S4, you just won't have that problem.
