Good find. That is a great price. I just picked up an 01 A4 1.8TQM with 42,000 for $12,500. Maybe I should try to sell it right away and buy this S4.
Hey, I am also from KC. Where do you recommend getting any work done on an Audi in KC? I am thinking about a chip.

Imagine Auto is a real nice shop. they just had a nice local show not too long ago, you missed out.
personally i've had most of my work done @ Bob Hindson Racing (http://www.bobhindsonracinginc.com) and they've treated me very well.
i've also been to European Motorsports for the timing belt job a while ago. Gary is the owner, is a super nice guy and they have treated me very well also.
i'm not necessarily loyal to any one shop, but Bob Hindson Racing has treated me very well and i'm most likely going back to them soon for some body work (they don't necessarily do body work, but i'll be replacing the hood and bumper, which they can do of course).

Thanks for the info. I think I'll go with Bob Hindson Racing, I talked to them on the phone and they were quite helpful.
$15K is alright. Not awesome but, alright. The fact that it only has 49K miles on it is the main selling point. The fact that it's a 2000 is not a strong selling point. (unless you wanted no ASR)
The fact is that a 2000 S4 6sp with 50K miles on it is worth $16K at a used car dealership. Trade-in value is about $13K. That means that $14.5K would be a nice private sale price.
If you got this car for $14,500 it would be a fair deal.
BTW, the driver's fender was definitely repainted. You can see in this pic:

You'll see the shade of the paint change from fender to door.[;)]

Like Daft said. You can tell because the driver's side front quarter panel doesn't match the rest of the car. It doesn't look terrible, but , to me, noticable.

i don't know much about 2.7T's or S4's. what's "no ASR" ?
and damn, good call on the fender. i actually remember calling the owner about this and leaving a message saying i was very interested and never called back. i mentioned i was in an A4 myself right now, maybe the figured i'd be wise to whatever problems it has and would be a waste of time ;)

ASR is Anti-Slip Regulation (aka. traction control).
Most people find traction control to be handy but, if you were buying a B5 S4 for drag racing or just all-around fast driving, ASR would be pointless.
Based on my encounters with other S4 owners over the years, the MY2000 is the most popular for modding since it was available without ASR and you could get them with no sunroof which reduces the body weight without being sneaky and adds more rigidity to the roof.
My only issue is that buying a used 2000 is that it can be like buying a bomb waiting to detonate. Usually they haven't been fully cared for and by now they have high miles. Alot of the 2000s should really receive new turbos and fresh pipe couplers to prevent serious problems. At that point, you might as well go Stg. 3+ with some K04s....
If I were going to buy a B5 S4 at this point, I'd look for the lowest mileage 2001.5 - 2002 with Alcantara interior. You get the nicer badges and the best trim/seating package.
