View Full Version : How to disassemble interior

I am planning on adding additional sound insulation to my 2003 A4. Before I go tearing things apart, though, I would like to have half a clue as to how the seats, center counsel, etc, are supposed to come apart. Are there manuals available that go through this step by step? I looked at audi shop manuals, but they seemed to include only mechanical info.

My goal is to make the car tomb quiet. I spend lots of time on the highway and, while not loud, the A4 interior is loud enough that it gets tiring after all day on the road.

Thanks!

I did my stereo over the course of week or so. I work during the day, and mod at night[:D]

I could probably strip the whole interior in a few hours now[;)]

When the pictures were taken, i hadnt put in the dynomat yet.. but yea, Dynomat is a self adheasive sound deadener (basically super thin metal sheets that have a 1/16" of glue/adheasive on one side) once its cut out to shape and pressed onto the desired surface, thats it. Its very very hard to remove, so its basically there for good[:D] I did attatch the oem foam board over the dynomat, so it actually does look like these pics..

It looks like this thou (not my pic) You get the idea[;)]
