Ok if you had to do it again how would you hard wire the Ipod? or keep it the way you did it the first time? Also anyone here have issues with the battery life? I hear that it isn't that great but I don't plan on using it outside my car.

on the b6 the hardwire kit is pretty easy and straight forward i haven't gone the route of hardwiring the power to it to date but i dont forsee it being that difficult to do. The batter on the first gen isn't the greatest and haven't had the latest Ipod to compare to.

if u just get an afermarket HU with an Aux port on the back, u can run a component cable to anywhere in the car. i have mine coming out in the glovebox with a cable goin from the glovebox out into the cabin. it's all directly wired so theres's little interference, 1000x better than an FM modulator, and the only loss of quality is in the crappy $3 RCA cable i bought from Radio shack. a monster cable would prolly sound SICK bc mine's still damn good. for power, it wouldn't be hard to run a Belkin thing behind the dash and wire it into the HU and a power line. then it would work pretty well i think. if u want pics, just say so, it looks pretty good
