Since I went from OEM to Stasis to the GT Vogtlands (CDN GB from Startupracing), I figured you guys may appreciate some feedback ... I can honestly say the end result is a noticeable improvement ! [up]
A year ago, I came across a gently used set of Stasis coils and since I wanted to lower my ride, I pulled the trigger. After unsuccessfully dealing with height issues in the rear (including getting add'l spacers from Stasis), I decided it was time to move on. This was due to (a) losing my bellypan this winter and (b) scraping my relocated cat (mostly on speed bumps but I've also bottomed out on a particular dip in the road on the way to Mont Tremblant [:(]). Aside from a sagging rear and being a bit too soft, the Stasis coils are especially good at sucking up bumps and I would even suggest they're comfier than OEM sport. Once I decided it was time to yank the Stasis coils (already sold them), I was faced with a decision to either just go back to the OEM sports or look for something else.
A recent ride in a B6 with Vogts closed the deal ... I've only had the Vogts on for a day and still need to dial in the height and get an alignment. Even at this early stage it is quite apparent that the handling has improved and although the ride feels firmer, it is very civil and not jarring at all. Steering feels more responsive, the car stays flatter through turns and understeer appears to be reduced. I look forward to a drive on country road twisties tomorrow and suspect I'll be doing a fair amount of grinning [drive]
Cheers !
