I've heard of some doing that because the keyhole on the driver's side door is a security risk due to some design flaw. Someone was telling me once about just how easy it is to get into the car and bypass the stock security system via that keyhole, so replacing the driver's door handle seems like it'd be a good way of protecting against that. Just better hope you don't ever lose your remote [:p]

All you have to do is remove the rod that goes from the lock. Rendering the key hole useless. Besides they don't use the key hole,, they punch a hole in the door near it, then they grab the rod and unlock the door.

Yes, its pretty easy. Just remove your inner door cover and you will see the rod. It is held in place by clips on either side, remove the clips, remove the rod, replace door cover, done.[:D]
