So my car was misfiring and shaking the other day. I looked it up and figured it was the ICM. I bring it down to the local shop because I just wanted it done asap and didn't mind paying a little more to have it that way.

They tell me its the coil pack, not the ICM. I figure they know more than me, and they only wanted $100. If $100 fixes it I'm happy.

This morning I get a call from my mom (I'm 16, cars in her name at the shop). "Hey, turns out it was that ignition thingy. They said it'd be around $600 so I told them to just take care of it."

[headbang]

The shops charging $600 for a new ICM, coilpack (apparently they BOTH went out. I'm smelling bullshit), oil change (fuel in the oil), spark plugs (platinum? wtf.) and labor (5 screws for the ICM/coilpack, 15 minutes for the oil change/spark plugs. Assholes).

My mom told them yes before I could tell her not to, so yeah. We got into a pretty big fight and she agreed to pay $400 worth. That could've been a chip :(

I knew I shouldn't have bought the car there in the first place, but I figured I just wanted it done now. Nobodys touching my car anymore, I ordered the vagcom an hour ago.

Not when you have to pay $95/hr labor on dishwasher's pay.

Trust me, the wrench is my new best friend.
