Smoked tails and cops twice in ten mins

im really starting to hate nj right now...so tonight on my way home i got pulled over twice in ten mins for my tails because they are smoked/blacked out as the cop said and that he cant see my brake/tail lights ( everyone else can) so anyways 1st time i got pulled over he was cool for the most part but was fighting with me that the top of the tail light is to be lite up also but i told him they dont come like that on my car and he said they all do and it should because its the law and after he called for 3more cops to come ( which there was no reason for at all )..then got pulled over for driving in the fast line and doing the speed limit yes i did say doing the spped limit and for just driving and not passing anyone let there was a guy behind me that speeded up and passed me on the right and then went back into the fast line and he was fine ( didnt get pulled over like me) so i got pulled over for that and again smoked/blacked out tails and samething happened again...ah i dont know what to do with my tails now leave them smoked or get rid of them idk what to do because i really like the look of them but dont want to deal with anyone damn nj cops that think they know everything...so anyone know of any good ways to smoked the tails and see them 100% or get blacked out tails already done ? and anyone esle have this problem doesnt just have to be in nj.

yeah...i tested it also put one in then looked at it with the led and stock bulb and leds are alot brighter...but i guess that didnt help me =(...but im going i guess you can say test it out again today because i got to drive to ny for family because it easter so lets hope tonight goes better.

You can't drive on the left unless you are passing, overtaking slower moving cars or moving over to allow traffic merging onto the road from an onramp. It used to be a law in PA and apparently still is in NJ. Believe it or not.

Much more bright than stock bulbs. LEDs are amazing, lol, those little bulbs work wonders on how bright they are.

If they allowed LED headlights, I believe they are brighter than HIDs.... not sure on that, but I think I read it on MSN once.

It is a law in every state, this is why it is called the "passing" lane. Problem is people think it is called the fast lane or "travel" lane for those that are taking long drives.


Cop most likely pulled him over because he saw that he would not move out of the left lane making the other car pass him on the right.

yeah man, over here , we arent supposed to hang out in the passing lane, unless there is a traffic flow. I always cruise in the middle lane and hardly ever get pulled over on the highway, its very simple, keep it under 80 , stay out of the left lane, and i guess in ur situation , Dont smoke your taillights!

there are big signs on all of our highways that say stay right pass left its the law. And idk how you keep getting pulled over for smoked tailights Iv'e had mine for a year and never got stopped once. When my tailights are on you can't even tell that they are smoked

True. The law in PA was called "Driving on Limited Access Highways" meaning State highways with on / off ramps, interstate, turnpike, that type of thing.

Are you from the US? I ask because it was very hard to read your post. At night police will often invite more cops on a stop for their own safety...Regardless as to how you feel about it. Again it is for their safety. In the US, any public highway with more then 1 lane going the same direction the far left will be for passing. So yes by traveling in the passing lane you can earn yourself a violation. I often wonder if they still teach this in drivers ed. And yes darkening your tail lights can earn you a ticket. You are just leaving it to police discretion.

i cant believe people are defending cops it has nothing to do wit the law it was bc he was done wit his donut and was bored thats all..i got pulled over for having a registration light out but when i asked what that was the cop says well ur window tint is illegal haha i had no lights out .....but if i rear ended you i deff would get out of it bc ur tails are smoked hahaha [:D]

^^load of crap. Maybe if you use the fast lane properly, you wouldn't be complaining about getting pulled over right now. As far as him thinking the fogs need to be brake lights....the cop is obviously an idiot. If I got a ticket for that, I'd go to court with my owners manual. Rethink your tint though, if its causing you that much trouble, It's not worth it. Dark tint doesn't look too great on our cars anyways. The only cars around here who have dark tinted tails are srt-4's

They either had a mistaken identity with your car or you were really pissing the cop off. They usually do not pull you over for tints, tinted tailights, seatbelt, HID's or any other stupid accesories you have your car unless they are suspicion of something else you may have or be doing. And if you were pulled over by a state trooper good luck fighting your ticket, with all the people who died in NJ lately from speeding they are not gonna go easy especially since two troopers were killed in pursuit of speeders. There is a mod to make your rear fogs light up with your brakes. Not sure if it makes the opposite true though, rear fogs are pretty useless anyway.
