aight guys... i remember a while back somebody posted about this and somebody suggested a metal replacement for it... well today, apparently two of the "screws" or fasteners or whatever broke off and i was draggin the panel til i pulled over to see what the noise was... the panel's already been damaged from the driver before me, and now it looks like i'm gonna be driving without one til i either get a new one or figure out a way to get the panel back under there securely... so i got few questions now.... any ideas? DARE i ask how much the panel costs if i have my cousin order one for me? lol.... and how many of u actually drive without it? the oil pan has cracked once before from a stadium garage dip at the exit.... that happened with an underpanel, let alone without one... thanks

You can buy replacement screws and such from ecs-tuning.com. As for the panel, i heard you can order a regular OEM for ~$300ish.

Mine was free, but Jiffy Lube paid ~$100 for the pan and like $40 for the assorted screws.

Of course, that's the last time my car has been to Jiffy Lube...

I've never driven with one on. Unecessary. Save your money for something worthwhile. And it makes working on the car from underneath a helluva a lot easier.

I got mine from the stealership for around $100, then installed it myself.

needforspd, yea i know what u mean about the oil leak but u got to figure that if that underpanel isnt there and ur driving hard, rocks and sh*t can be damaging the bottom of ur engine... not sure if the 1.8T is the same way, but on the 2.8's, the oil pan and the front sway bar is the lowest point that will get scraped if i bottom out and last time i did, a small hairline crack in the pan costed me a $100 bones to replace the bottom piece of the pan...

pismojeff, thanks a lot bro, im gonna look into it to see if its still for sale, but i might be able to rig the one i got back up there... im gonna head to my cuzins shop tomorrow morning and see if itll work... cause if i can save that $50+ then i will cause im plannin on selling it soon anyways
