Sh!t. I'm supposed to do my brakes that week-end. Got everything I basically need, except the rear caliper removal tool and paint for the rear calipers. The fronts have been powder coated RED. If you set something up, I would come to the city meet, and I live in the FAR western burbs - Elgin.

Regardless, I dont think there is much YOU or anyone here can tell me about the city - I have been born and raised IN THE CITY (North side) my entire life - currently I am 41 years old, and just moved to Elgin a little more than 5 years ago - therefore, I am confident that I know the city much better than most.

And you are right, most meets are in the "burbs" - and for good reason too.
There is a lot less trouble/gang-bangers
The roads are better and more fun
There is less traffic
There are bigger parking lots and places that can accomodate more people/cars
People are typically friendlier out here - I know from real life experience, not just my opinion

A cruise "downtown" would be an absolute nightmare if we have over 2 - 3 cars. Someone is going to be trying to "keep up" and get into an accident or something - I have seen it before!
With a larger group, we need to stay away from the city IMO - if we do go down there I have no objection, except for the fact that we will get split up for sure. Too many lights/people/obstacles like the CTA bus, or even construction - IMO, its just a bad idea.

Besides, near hooters, there are plenty of cool roads, we could head west down Higgins, and then take a right on East River Road, which is a really nice drive - google.map it and see what I am talking about if you want!

Whatever happens, I am in for everything - lol

These are just random thoughts, but you should think about the group!
