Is the passenger side mirror housing the aluminum one? Or painted plastic?

I have a B6 S4 Avant and the original aluminum passenger side mirror housing was damaged in transit. I wonder if I could transplant your good mirror housing or my good glass to make a complete unit.

Please let me know.

Unfortunately it is a plastic housing. I had bought it from ebay to rectify the same problem and was unable to use it.

so does the carbon fiber ashtray work? can it be repaired with a basic ashtray easily? or is it just completely broken?

if you have wood trim on your rear ashtray you could swap the CF ashtray cover for the wood one, otherwise its going to need a lot of work to work properly
